Edwin Hammond Meredith's profile

Bringing Public Enemy to a New Generation

Florida resident Edwin Hammond Meredith studied sociology and anthropology in Colorado. In his free time, Edwin Hammond Meredith enjoys participating in sports such as paddle-boarding and skateboarding. He is a longtime fan of the 1980s rap band, Public Enemy.

Two decades after the New York-based early hip-hop group Public Enemy released its debut album, rapper Chuck D developed the concept PE 2.0, short for Project Experience Millennium, as the latest incarnation of the group’s sound.

After meeting Cleveland rapper Jahi at Public Enemy’s 20th Anniversary Tour, Chuck D challenged the young artist to remake Public Enemy songs for the next generation. Launching the project in 2014, the group plans to release a trilogy of related albums.

Other Public Enemy artists, including Professor Griff and Davy DMX, have contributed to the content of PE 2.0. By 2018, the concept group had created two albums that featured covers, remixes, and new material.
